Get DeskDot
Install DeskDot like any other app
One file for Windows, Mac or Android. It's free, there's no account, and later updates install
from inside the app. Unofficial · works with iDotMatrix-compatible 32×32 panels · close the iDotMatrix phone app
first (the panel takes one Bluetooth connection at a time).
Tick the box to turn on the download buttons.
For this device
Windows
Windows 10/11 (64-bit), 80 MB
First install, step by step
Open the file you downloaded. It's a normal setup program.
If Windows SmartScreen says it protected your PC, click More info, then Run anyway. It says this because DeskDot is new and not yet widely downloaded.
Follow the steps. You can tick Start DeskDot when I sign in.
DeskDot opens the studio in your browser and sits in the tray, next to the clock.
Apple silicon (M1 and newer), 83 MB · Intel Mac, 76 MB
First install, step by step
Not sure which Mac you have? Apple menu → About This Mac: “Apple M1” (or M2, M3…) means Apple silicon, “Intel” means Intel.
Open the disk image and drag DeskDot into Applications.
The first time, right-click (or Control-click) DeskDot and choose Open, then Open again. If macOS still blocks it, go to System Settings → Privacy & Security and click Open Anyway.
Allow Bluetooth when macOS asks, so DeskDot can reach the panel.
Updates arrive inside the app. Install once. When a new version is out, DeskDot shows an
Update available sign; Settings → Device → Updates lists what changed in plain words, downloads it,
checks it's genuine and installs it. Your settings stay. DeskDot asks GitHub about every 6 hours whether
there's a new version (nothing about you is sent); you can turn that off in the same place.
Or skip the install: use your browser no install
The full engine runs in the tab and talks to the panel over Web Bluetooth: Chrome, Edge or Opera on Windows,
macOS, ChromeOS, Linux and Android (on iPhone, the Bluefy browser). A few apps need the computer (for example
Now Playing and the system monitor), so they live in the installed app.
